Courses
Open Water Diver
This course equips you with the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to dive confidently alongside similarly qualified divers.
As a certified GUE Recreational Diver Level 1, you’ll be prepared to dive in familiar conditions with divers holding the same or higher certification level.
What you’ll get:
- Comprehensive training in foundational dive skills, safety protocols, and effective team diving.
- Experience with proper buoyancy, trim, propulsion techniques, gas planning, problem-solving and underwater awareness.
- Preparation for safe recreational diving in conditions similar to those in which you were trained, alongside divers with equivalent or higher GUE certification.
Who it’s for:
New divers seeking a high-quality, rigorous introduction to scuba diving, or divers from other training systems who want a solid and reliable foundation aligned with GUE’s principles of safety, standardization, and team procedures.
It is the ideal entry point for anyone who wants to begin their diving journey with strong core skills and a pathway toward further GUE recreational or technical training.
Advanced Open Water Diver
The GUE Advanced Open Water Diver course builds upon your foundational skills to expand your comfort zone and capabilities. You’ll refine buoyancy, navigation, and situational awareness while gaining experience in deeper dives and more challenging environments. This course is ideal for divers seeking to extend their recreational limits with increased precision and confidence.
Master Diver
GUE’s Master Diver program is designed for those who want to reach the highest level of non-professional recreational diving. This course integrates previous training with advanced dive planning, rescue skills, and leadership in complex environments. It’s the perfect step for divers who are committed to excellence and looking to support others in the dive community.
Performance Diver
The GUE Performance Diver course is an ideal entry point into the GUE system, perfect for certified divers who want to improve core skills with a focused, short course.
What you’ll get:
- A 2-day training program (minimum 16 hours of instructor-led time), including classroom sessions, land drills and at least 4 dives.
- Refinement of essential diving fundamentals: buoyancy control, trim and balance, streamlined propulsion techniques, proper equipment configuration, and foundational dive planning and team protocols.
- Strengthening of dive comfort, efficiency and situational awareness, making your dives safer and more enjoyable.
Who it’s for:
Divers with a basic scuba certification who want a quick but effective “refresher + upgrade”, especially if they feel their foundational skills (trim, buoyancy, propulsion) could use sharpening before pursuing more advanced diving.
Basic Fundamentals
The GUE Basic Fundamentals course is GUE’s most popular program, designed to give divers a solid, reliable foundation of skills, regardless of prior training background. It’s often described as the course where “everything falls into place.”
What you’ll get:
- A 3-day course, combining theory, land drills and at least 6 dives.
- Mastery of core skills: trim, buoyancy, balance, propulsion (frog kick, flutter kick, back kick, controlled manoeuvres), correct equipment configuration, valve management, gas sharing, SMB (surface marker buoy) deployment, dive team procedures, and dive planning including use of Nitrox.
- A solid and standardized diving platform; after this course many divers notice improved comfort, control and confidence underwater.
Who it’s for:
Divers of all experience levels who want to develop strong foundational skills for safe and efficient diving.
It’s ideal for new divers who want to start with a high level of control and technique, as well as for experienced divers who wish to refine their trim, buoyancy and propulsion or correct habits from earlier training.
The course is also the required gateway for divers intending to progress into higher-level GUE recreational or technical training.
Technical Fundementals
The GUE Technical Fundamentals course builds on the recreational fundamentals, preparing experienced divers for more advanced or technical diving paths such as technical, rebreather or cave diving.
What you’ll get:
- A 4-day course, including classroom/theory, land drills and at least 8 dives.
- Advanced dive skills and procedures: refined buoyancy, trim and propulsion; proper doubles tank configuration; valve drills; advanced gas management including Nitrox; backup light deployment; SMB deployment; ascent protocols; basic rescue introduction; dive team communication and situational awareness.
- Preparation for diving in more demanding environments: deeper dives (within recreational to technical limits), dives requiring precise gas management and safety protocols, and readiness for future GUE technical or cave courses.
Who it’s for:
Divers who already have solid recreational experience and want a robust foundation before committing to technical or overhead-environment diving. It’s also the recommended stepping stone for those aiming for technical, rebreather or cave training under the GUE system.
Cave 1
The GUE Cave Level 1 course introduces divers to the thrill and challenge of overhead environment diving, specifically in the captivating world of flooded underwater caves. This unique and hidden environment calls for specialized skills, and GUE Cave 1 provides in-depth training on navigating cave systems and understanding the associated risks. While divers gain the knowledge to explore beyond the daylight zone, a conservative gas management strategy ensures that new cave divers remain within a safe, limited range of the entrance.
DPV 1
The GUE DPV 1 course introduces the use of diver propulsion vehicles for efficient underwater travel. You’ll learn how to plan and execute dives using a DPV while maintaining team awareness, proper trim, and propulsion techniques. This course opens new possibilities for exploration.
